Snuggle Babies' signature bamboo is a truly unique fabric. While bamboo fabric is becoming increasingly popular for baby layettes and children’s sleepwear, our bamboo offers an unparalleled silky, cloud-soft feel. When you think of Snuggle Babies, bamboo comes to mind. We predominantly use bamboo because it is a sustainable resource that outperforms other fabrics in many ways.
The journey began when our founder, Linh Duong, discovered that her cousin struggled to sleep due to chronic eczema and worrying about her coming princess. Her baby would become restless at night, pulling at her pajamas to relieve the discomfort of hot, irritated skin. Duong started researching breathable fabrics that could soothe her baby’s skin rather than irritate it, and she had her breakthrough moment when she found bamboo.
Bamboo fibers create a fabric that is 3 degrees cooler than cotton, smooth to the touch, and incredibly gentle on delicate skin, making it ideal for those with conditions like eczema. Bamboo excels in breathability, absorption, and thermoregulation, preventing overheating. Duong realized that bamboo fabric could benefit not just her baby, but babies everywhere. The signature bamboo viscose is fabrics—not too hot, not too cold, but just right for deep, restful sleep. It's lightweight, breathable, soothingly soft, naturally antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, and safe for sensitive skin. The advantages of bamboo don't end there; it is one of the most sustainable natural resources available. As the fastest-growing plant on the planet, it is incredibly versatile, and our favorite application is in clothing.
Snuggle Babies is best recognized for its sleepwear, as that’s where our story began. Our bestselling Sleepy Bag and Zippy is a combo sleep set designed to reduce the risk of SIDS by replacing loose blankets (which pose a hazard) and preventing overheating (another known risk factor). Our bamboo pajamas help little ones achieve better quality sleep by keeping them cool and comfortable, which in turn helps parents sleep better too. Next year, we will our collection to include daywear, and adult wear. We have also developed various bamboo fabrics for these collections, including bamboo jersey and ribbed bamboo. Ribbed Fabric Bamboo:
Our ribbed bamboo fabric is the thickest and coziest choice among our sleepwear. With its luxurious softness and unique texture, this fabric is perfect for colder weather, surpassing both our original bamboo and bamboo jersey. Thanks to the ultra-stretchy rib knit design, our ribbed bamboo pieces are tailored in a slightly narrower fit to ensure they remain true to size.
